I recycle old discarded books and magazines, carefully cutting the commercial images that once promoted the picture of domestic bliss, the American Dream and the notion of a future perfect and placing those snippets into humorous and quirky scenes that play with scale and perspective.
I'm currently working on more complex collages using vintage paper parts from adverts, anything from household appliances, office supplies to DIY. Whatever I can make resemble a robot or the workings of a humanoid is really making me tick right now.
With technology so prevalent and the threat of AI on creatives this is my human response done in a nostalgic way, a kind of imaginary past of an imaginary future.
